Let's Talk Rubbish! Waste and Street Cleaning Survey 2026

Overview

We would like to know what you think of the waste and street cleaning services offered by South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils. These include refuse, recycling, food and garden waste collections, and street cleansing services.

This survey is run annually and in 2025, more than 2,100 people took part. As a result of the feedback we received, extra training was given to the staff who perform the services to help ensure bins are returned correctly after emptying. Further checks were also put in place around litter bin emptying and measures were taken to improve street cleaning standards across the area. We have also increased communication on which items go in which bin, especially around food waste.

By taking part in this year's survey, you will help us to continue to identify satisfaction levels with these important services and identify areas for improvement.

This year's survey also includes a section on local repair cafes and how to find your nearest one.

Please note - questions relating to recycling centres, highways, drains and weeds are not covered in this survey as these services are the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council, which manages them separately.

Once the survey has closed, all comments will be reviewed and a summary report will be produced. Once finalised, the summary report will be available on our website.
